MLP gains accreditation to provide training for the qualification of Certified Financial Planner (CFP)

  • Successful completion of the rigorous inspection by the Financial Planning Standards Board accreditation organisation
  • CFP is the highest internationally recognised training standard for financial consultants
  • Training is conducted at the MLP Corporate University
Wiesloch, 20th January 2012 – With immediate effect, and following an intensive inspection phase by the Financial Planning Standards Board Deutschland e. V. (FPSB Deutschland), the independent financial services and wealth management consulting company MLP has now received accreditation to provide training for the qualification of Certified Financial Planner (CFP). This further training at MLP’s own Corporate University (CU) is one of several requirements for achievement of the CFP certification by the participating MLP consultants, who are thus committed to the strictest quality standards in the financial services industry. The CFP qualification is the highest internationally-recognised training standard for financial advisors.

The MLP Corporate University in Wiesloch is one of the three accredited training institutes in Germany – the other two being the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel and the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management in Frankfurt. “By achieving this accreditation, our Corporate University is now on a par with renowned institutes in Germany and abroad. The high quality of our initial and further training is a central requirement for the provision of client-oriented consulting services,” comments Karl-Friedrich Bauer, Divisional Head and President of the Corporate University. “We are very pleased to now have an independent financial services and wealth management consulting company such as MLP as an accredited training institute for the recognised CFP certification,” explains Rudolf Fuhrmann, Chairman of FPSB Deutschland.

Since March 2010, MLP consultants in a pilot group at the Corporate University have been able to prepare themselves for CFP certification – however thanks to the recent accreditation, this will now, in principle, be a possibility for all experienced MLP consultants. The successful participants of the first training year class received their CFP certification from FPSB in January.

In addition to the recent accreditation by FPSB, the MLP Corporate University is also one of just 15 European corporate universities accredited by the European Foundation of Management Development (EFMD). Furthermore, since 2005 MLP consultants have been able to study for the qualification of Master of Business Administration (MBA) which MLP offers in conjunction with international partner universities.
